Blues dancing is for many the perfect way to express themselves to the music they love, its all about how you interpret what you hear in ...the music & how you share & communicate those ideas with your partner on the dance floor. There’s so much more to blues dancing than just slowing down
Workshop 1 - 1pm-3pm Blues Fundamentals
Juke Joint Blues dancing is all about expressing yourself to the music you hear. Juke Joints were the bars in the U.S. where people went to listen & dance to live music. We’ll look at the classic jukin’ steps to get you into the rhythm of the music allowing you to explore & play with the music.
Ballroomin’ Ballroom blues is a more lyrical style & is great for more subtle music. Here we’ll look at moving as a partnership around the dance floor & teaching you some cool tricks like lunges & leg flicks
Tango Blues Tango & blues share a lot in common & we can have a lot of fun mixing the two together. We’ll take inspiration from some of our favourite tango moves & patterns to add some spice & flair to our blues repertoire.
Micro Blues Micro blues is the essence of connection, if we took out all the extraneous noise in dancing what we’d be left with is the dialogue of connection between two dancers. In this class we’ll see how the most subtle movements can be lead & followed & learn to really tune in to our partner
Venue
Martlets Hall, Civic Way, Burgess Hill, West Sussex RH15 9NN
